WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY... Australian born photographer Jo Hanley graduated from RMIT, with distinction in 2005. Moving to Edinburgh in the same year Jo's work and client list has gone from strength to strength. .................................................... With her fresh, contemporary take on classic portraiture, award winning photographer Jo Hanley is celebrated for both her commercial and editorial work. Building her work on the foundations of traditional photographic principles, and refined digital techniques Jo is able tailor her technical skills to any environment, generating vibrant images with a strong narrative edge. Jo welcomes commercial, advertising and editorial commissions. WHAT I SAY... It’s all of someone’s collective experiences, reactions and interactions that brings them to this point in front of the camera. I try not to think ‘Oh, your a chef.’ I try and think ‘What food did you eat as a kid. Were you a pot noodle or bok choy teen’ .................................................... Photographing Burlesque performers made me feel obese and uncoordinated. On the up side I learnt a lot about glitter. .................................................... I love photography. It’s my life before it’s my lifestyle and it's the way I communicate on behalf of the people that hire me.
