Jessie's Girl

Last week I was asked to shoot portraits of Author Jessie Burton for the Wall Street Journal.
So I did.

Jessie was in town for the Edinburgh International Book Festival chatting about her debut novel 'The Miniaturist'. The book was auctioned to 29 different publishers and entered the UK charts at number 4! Not too bad for a first time go... We had a lovely time wandering some questionable back streets of Edinburgh heading to lanes and closes that could resemble 1680s Amsterdam (where the book is set, I'm not that obscure). The book's heroine is Petronella Oortman, the WSJ explains, "A wedding gift of a dollhouse leads her to a shadowy artist whose miniatures seem to hold prophetic powers".

My copy is en route.
