Caledonian 1903

I was recently asked to shoot a lifestyle editorial for the Waldorf Astoria Magazine (USA) featuring Edinburgh's glamorous Caledonia Hotel (now part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection). This luxury Hotel in Edinburgh's West End stood as the capitals main railway station for almost 100 years. The Caledonian Hotel (then the Princes Street Station Hotel) was opened in 1903, the station itself was closed by 1965 but the hotel has evolved to take over the entire space.

With an air of the Great Gatsby the Caley bar is located in what was once the stations main entrance. It is here I was introduced to the 1903. The 1903 is now a cocktail that was created for the hotels centenary and while it's ingredients are a closely guarded secret I can tell you it's certainly full of whisky. If you find yourself out in the cold and in need of some glamor in Edinburgh's West End, seek it out.
