Its that time of year again. The time when Edinburgh's population triples and when you can't even stop at traffic lights without someone, juggling, singing or monologue-ing to entertain you as you wait. Some people, locals generally, despise the festival season. I love it. When the great, the good, the bad and the really bad compete on an even platform, what's not to like? It's like some sort of diva summer camp.
This year has again been a busy one for me. Last week I was invited to cover the inaugural 'The Great Estate' festival. There was music, poetry, comedy and yoga thrown together with good food, good beer and at least two sunny days (of three, not bad.) All set at the foot of the beautiful Vogrie House. This years event was a private affair so I can only offer a sneaky peek, but next year it will be open to anyone who thinks you can just never have enough festival.
