Portrait of Mark Beaumont
On Yer Bike
Way back in September I was asked to shoot some portraits of Adventurer Mark Beaumont. Never one to pass on the chance to meet someone whose job title is 'Adventurer' I jumped at the opportunity.
Mark had just returned from setting 2 Guinness World Records by cycling around the world in 78 days, 14 hours and 40 minutes. Covering 18,032 miles / 29,020 km and 16 countries. Mark happily listed all the places he loved to cycle through. Mongolia, China topped the list. but more importantly he told us cycling through Australia was "not bad" but that he "LOVED" to cycle through New Zealand. As both my assistant and I are in fact Australian we promptly pushed his bike over.*
The weather played well with us providing some lovely low autumnal light, which when matched with our flashy flashes helped generate a fine collection of images of a very impressive human being, who is clearly very wrong about Australia, he must have been tired or something.
