Last week I had the pleasure of my first visit to The Peterhead fish market in Aberdeenshire, and what a thrill it was. I was there to shoot portraits of Fish Merchant Andrew Charles for Waitrose supermarkets, to whom Andrew has supplied scallops for the best part of 20 years. The shots below don't let on that it was blowing a gale, freezing cold and really quite smelly, but the sun was shining and in Scotland that's a point of celebration on any given day.
Peterhead and its fishing industry were made famous thanks in large part to the BBC documentary series TrawlerMen. Both Andrew and I very quietly confessed our susceptibility to violent seasickness while we watched the experts land the catch of the day. Good times.
